
Chronology of Events
Hundreds of demonstrators began gathering on Gatot Subroto Street around 10:00 AM. The protesters, comprised of students, pupils, and concerned citizens, voiced their opposition to the proposed increase in salaries and allowances for members of the DPR.

At approximately 12:45 PM, police forces initiated a dispersal operation, employing tear gas and water cannons against the demonstrators. Bystanders reported experiencing eye irritation and respiratory difficulties due to the tear gas.
Law enforcement continued to push the crowd away from the parliament complex, extending as far as Spark on Gerbang Pemuda Street and the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan area.
Demonstrators retaliated by throwing stones and plastic bottles, and using bamboo and metal objects found in the vicinity to obstruct the police.
